Public benefits
The advancement of citizenship or community development by the developing and implementing as far as practicable a community development strategy for the area will be articulated through an all inclusive process of meetings, study groups and other forms of community engagement. This will be monitored by collecting data on frequency of meetings;
level of participation; actions arising from the meeting and the development of a community development strategy to be renewed every two or three years dependent upon the circumstances at the time particularly with regard to funders requirements and expectations’ The direct benefits which flow from purpose include empowering local residents to discuss their common issues, identify solutions and through the assembling of resources both financial and in kind resolve the common problems in order to develop their local community. This will as a consequence reduce criminal activity and strengthen community cohesion. By strengthening community cohesion we mean transforming the recognition of where people reside to being a proactive experience where people feel that by meeting, by participating they can make a difference. This will strengthen identity with the area and facilitate social solidarity in the estate. These benefits are (will be) evidenced through the creation of strategy for the development of the community Meetings will be held to further this purpose to ensure there is the greatest extent of community support to develop the strategy. Training courses will be arranged either in the area or where this is not possible arranging local residents have access to training in other parts of the city The purposes of our charity may lead to the following harm would be from food poisoning, physical harm during an event (tripping, Falling over) all these would be covered by public liability insurance.. However, we can show that this harm is outweighed by the benefits accruing to the community in their dialogue to improve the area and by enacting those collective decisions within the range of their abilities. However, the risk of any of these things happening at any of the meetings and public meetings is extremely small and unheard of in the period of our existence since 2005. The minimal risk involved does not impact on advancement. of citizenship or community development by developing and implementing as far as practicable a community development strategy for the area The charity's beneficiaries are the residents of the Clarawood estate in Belfast and its immediate environs – an area bounded by the Knock Dual Carriageway, Sandown Road, Laburnum Playing fields and the Knock River. No distinction will be made on the grounds covered by section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998: age, having or not having a disability, gender, marital status, religion, political opinion, ethnicity, sexual; orientation, having or not having dependents. The advancement of citizenship and community development will seek to be all inclusive at every stage – in developing the strategy for the area and in implementing the strategy for the benefit of all who wish to participate. As far as is practicable every effort will be made to quantify participation by residents. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose that can be discerned at this point of time.
