Public benefits

Our objectives are the relief of poverty of widows of Freemasons and, or, relatives of Freemasons and Freemasons who are experiencing financial hardship . Also to provide financial assistance to other charitable purposes as defined in the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 the direct benefit is less stress to the individual and improved mental

and physical well being. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from our beneficiaries. There is no harm caused by any of the services provided. There is no private benefit flowing from the purposes. The beneficaries are widows of freemasons, freemasons and relatives of freemasons and the general public.

What your organisation does

a) To raise funds. In doing so, the Charity Committee must not undertake any substantial permanent trading activity and must comply with any relevant statutory regulations; b) To co-operate with other charities, voluntary bodies and statutory authorities and to exchange information and advice with them; c) To establish or support any charitable

trusts, associations or institutions formed for any of the charitable purposes included in the objects; d) To acquire, merge with or to enter into any partnership or joint venture arrangement with any other Charity; e) To deposit or invest funds and to arrange for the investments or other property of the Charity Committee to be held in the name of the nominee; in the same manner and subject to the same conditions as the trustees of a trust are permitted to do by the Trustee Act (Northern Ireland) 2001; f) To pay out of the funds of the Charity Committee the costs of forming and registering the Charity Committee as a Charity;

Charitable purposes

a) Relieve the poverty of widows of freemasons and, or, relatives of Freemasons and Freemasons who are experiencing financial hardship who were/are subscribing Members of Lodges within the Bangor District, as defined by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Down but not solely for that purpose. b) At its discretion, provide financial assistance for other charitable purposes as defined in the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
