Public benefits
The benefit to the public will be increased educational knowledge on a wide variety of subjects, improved life skills, increased social integration, assistance with emergency food in times of severe need, and a decreased sense of isolation within the local community. These benefits will be demonstrated by receiving regular feedback from those who
have participated or received assistance and any associated family members/groups, as well as by feedback about our charity given directly to Craigavon Borough Council. We cannot perceive any harm being caused by the above purposes, and if any does exist it would be negligible. The beneficiaries are the general public within the Portadown area without discrimination on grounds of religion, gender, nationality, sexual orientation or age. A private benefit to the charity's committee and volunteers may arise from attending/running various training events whereby they too receive training in a variety of subjects. As with the beneficiaries, the committee and volunteers will receive increased educational knowledge and improved life skills which are transferable to other settings e.g. other groups, employment and family life. These benefits are incidental to ensure that training is being provided to our beneficiaries.
