Public benefits

To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Randalstown, Co Antrim, and surrounding area (the “area of benefit”) without distinction of sex, race, ethnicity, political, religious or other opinion by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to: (1) advance community development by giving

support to local community groups and charitable organisations to promote and implement their activities for the benefit and improvement of all within the area of benefit; - Improving environment for all people of Randalstown & surrounding area; - Preserving heritage and culture of many historic aspects within the town; - Involving all sections of the community; - Improving cross community relations; - Involving over 400 volunteers with many key community events, eg festival, classes; - Promoting rural & urban regeneration; - Promoting social inclusion; - Promoting volunteering and the voluntary sector; - Providing a community hall/space/classrooms/meeting rooms; - Promoting the effective use of charitable resources and community groups. (2) relieve those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage; - promoting social inclusion; - bringing older people out interact sociably with others, thus reducing isolation; - providing educational, vocational and hobby classes at a very reasonable cost; - providing CAB Outreach service on weekly basis; - promoting the effective use of charitable resources. (3) advance education and training; - a better educated community; - promotes social inclusion; - bringing older people out interact sociably with others, thus reducing isolation; - providing educational, vocational and hobby classes at a very reasonable cost; - providing learning through awarding bodies and tutors; - supporting educational establishments (ie NRC – Living & Learning Together Project); - providing out of school education and learning groups. (4) provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. - promoting social inclusion; - promoting better cross community relations; - promoting volunteering and the voluntary sector; - providing a community hall/space/classrooms/meeting rooms; - promoting the effective use of charitable resources.

What your organisation does

ARCHES, formed in 1995, has carried out the following projects:- - Illumination of the Viaduct - Designation of Conservation Area status - Moore’s Lane Environmental Project - Viaduct Path - ARCHES House including Gapsite - ARCHES Mews - Youth Drop-in Centre and other Youth Projects - Ongoing Training Programme since 2000/01 - Festival and

Christmas Lights - Quarterly Newsletter At present:- - Each year, successfully co-ordinate two community festivals, ie 9 days of events in Randalstown Arches Community Festival in June, also Christmas Lights Celebrations in late November; - Continue producing quarterly Newsletter - Arches Outlook; - Ongoing community development; - PSNI Station Project – redevelopment and regeneration; - Training courses provider – vocational & recreational courses, eg First Aid, Food Hygiene, Sign Language, Art for Beginners, Card-making, Computers for Beginners, Arches Junior Dance Classes, Digital Photography, Family History, Scrapbooking, Tablet & iPad Essentials, etc for low cost training, with concessions for over 60’s and unemployed; - Providing office space / classrooms / meeting rooms and neutral venue for meetings; - Promoting activities of other smaller community groups; - Continuing to seek opportunities for investment and improvement of Randalstown and surrounding areas, via environmental improvements, as well as consolidating projects aimed at improving people’s lives through a range of training, education and community work provision.

Charitable purposes
