... [more] [less]What your organisation does
Each year, mainly through our local broadcasting activities, Radio Cracker, Ballymena raises funds for overseas relief and development. Each year, well-respected charitable organisations, such as Tearfund or Mission Africa, apply to Radio Cracker, Ballymena for funding for a particular project. The trustees consider each application very
carefully and approve a certain number using established and tested guidance. Listeners are given details of the projects and invited to donate. In January, the approved charities are told whether we are able to fund the full, or part of the, project. This depends on the amount of total funds raised. The monies are subsequently disbursed and then as the projects proceed, the charities send Radio Cracker, Ballymena photographic and other evidence of the expenditure of our funding.
