Public benefits

The Dungannon Multiple Sclerosis Support Group is established to relieve sickness and distress and to promote the benefit of, and the preservation and protection of health and well-being of people with Multiple Sclerosis (the beneficiaries) in the Dungannon area. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the reduction of stress and

anxiety among people with Multiple Sclerosis, their carers, helpers and friends in the Dungannon area and increased protection and preservation of their health. Organising computer classes, exercise classes, and therapeutic services helps the members with Multiple Sclerosis, their carers, helpers and friends to reduce stress and anxiety and help them to be more active in their daily lives. The computer classes help create new skills and enable the members to learn a range of tasks such as shopping and banking online. This enables the people with Multiple Sclerosis to be more independent and not having to rely on other people to do their shopping and banking. It also enables the members with Multiple Sclerosis to communicate with family and friends online. There is no harm flowing from the purposes. The benefits outlined can be demonstrated through feedback from the users of the service. There are no private benefits flowing from the purposes.
