Public benefits

Purpose 1 – Advancement of Education The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the building of skills, capacity, competence and qualifications among people residing in an area of low level skills and high unemployment which will effectively improve employability and educational attainment. These benefits are demonstrated through

feedback from participants, users and the local community via a range of methods including questionnaires; surveys; focus groups; and accessing government statistics as well as through regular independent evaluation of our services. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in the immediate catchment area of the Cregagh Estate and surrounding community. A private benefit flowing from this purpose is that gained by a Trustee who also has a child or family member who uses the services or activities. This Trustee applies for and is assigned a place in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and is necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose 2 – Protection of health The direct benefits which flow from this purpose includes the reduction of illness and health related issues including stress and anxiety; increased protection and preservation of their health. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from participants, users and the local community via a range of methods including questionnaires; surveys; focus groups; and accessing government statistics as well as through regular independent evaluation of our services. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in the immediate catchment area of the Cregagh Estate and surrounding community. A private benefit flowing from this purpose is that gained by a Trustee who also has a child or family member who uses the services or activities. Purpose 3 - Provide facilities in the interests of social welfare The benefits that flow from this purpose is to ensure the provisions in the surrounding area are of benefit to the local people. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from participants, users and the local community via a range of methods including questionnaires; surveys; focus groups; and accessing government statistics as well as through regular independent evaluation of our services. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in the immediate catchment area of the Cregagh Estate and surrounding community. A private benefit flowing from this purpose is that gained by a Trustee who also has a child or family member who uses the services or activities. This Trustee applies for and is assigned a place in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and is necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

We target social need through community support programmes, on education, training, childcare, advice, developing personal confidence and addressing issues of health and the environment. Through the delivery of programmes and services to local women, vulnerable adults and children We provide free support services on self-development programmes,

certified training on health, education, volunteering and employment, plus one-to-one study support and on-site childcare. We provide early intervention support to children and their families including Family Support Services which are available on a daily basis, including information and support regarding parenting issues, respite care, a listening ear and referral to specialist support, Complementary / Alternative Therapist, counselling and Advice and Advocacy. We offer OCR Basic Skills Awards in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT at Basic, Level 1 and Level 2 and offers progression routes to participants with other learning providers. Our Essential Skills operate on two levels, group sessions in the morning and afternoon. (fitting in with purpose 2.4.8)

Charitable purposes

The Company is established for the advancement of education and the protection of health and to provide in Northern Ireland ("the area of benefit") facilities in the interests of social welfare for the recreation and leisure time occupation of women who by reason of social or economic circumstances have need of such facilities in order that their condition of life may be improved.
