The direct benefits which flow from promoting rural community development through physical , social , artistic/cultural, environmental and sporting activity are an increased quality of life ( with social, mental health and well being, educational and recreational improvements). and activities and feedback received and regular internal evaluation and with other statutory/funding bodies. These benefits have been evidenced through participation and volunteering of time, skills and resources, feedback received and regular internal evaluation and with other statutory/funding bodies. The direct benefits which flow from managing a community centre are the increased volunteering opportunities and skills enhancement for trustees and volunteers and the provision of premises from which events and activities are organised and delivered from /in conjunction with and which would otherwise not be available. This is measured by the successful management and longevity of the community centre which has increased provision and outreach capacity. The direct benefits which flow from the advancement of education are the increased skills opportunities which have been made available to the community which enable social interaction, reducing isolation and deprivation and improves employability prospects. This is measured by the successful uptake and continued provision of classes/activities by external stakeholders and feedback received and regular internal evaluation and with other statutory/funding bodies. The direct benefits which flow from the relief of those in need are the provision of accessible facilities, events and activities contained within which have a positive impact on the mental health and wellbeing of those in need. This is measured by the successful uptake and continued provision of classes/activities by external stakeholders and feedback received and regular internal evaluation and with other statutory/funding bodies. The beneficiaries are people who live and work within the greater Clonoe area but this is not geographically exclusive or restrictive in any other manner. There is no harm or private benefit flowing from the purposes.

What your organisation does

CRDA was founded in 1995 with the principal aim to improve the quality of life for people in a rural community. Under the auspices of CRDA a fundraising drive was undertaken and with the assistance of statutory, local government and local financial backing set towards achieving a multi purpose Community Centre that would cater for the needs of the

community and address a great need in the area. The Centre caters for a range of educational, recreational, cultural, sporting and social activities albeit in a limited capacity. CRDA works in consultation with local people and with stakeholders in the community (other community organisations and bodies, individuals, groups, statutory and voluntary groups) in developing and delivering programmes which are user lead and in response to new initiatives. Clonoe Community Centre is home to groups such as older people, farmers, tenant’s association, women, children, music, dance and arts groups as well as sporting bodies who also use the centre. Clonoe Community Centre which is in the Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough principally services the Coalisland South, Coalisland North and Washingbay areas. This is a recognised rurally deprived area but within the Coalisland South area there is a designated Neighbourhood Renewal Areas (NRAs) which is a neighbourhood identified as experiencing the most severe multiple deprivation and footfall and participants are drawn from within this deprived area. There are two schools located in close proximity to the community centre, Annaghmore Primary School (220 pupils age 4-11) and Gaelscoil Uí Néill (177 pupils age 4-11).In recent years there have been huge increases in housing development within the Clonoe area which unfortunately has not been matched with provision of suitable recreational facilities. Clonoe Community Centre provides the bulk of recreational and social opportunities in the area and is therefore under huge demand.
