Public benefits
Purposes 1. To provide relief of poverty, hardship and distress 2. To provide an advancement of education for children and young people Public Benefit Statement The Trustees believe that both our purposes satisfy both elements of the public benefit requirement Purpose one The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are improved physical,
emotional and mental health and well being. The beneficiaries are young people in Uganda and other underdeveloped regions. Purpose two The direct benefits that flow from this purpose are that children and young people get educative opportunities they would not otherwise have. The beneficiaries are young people in Uganda and other underdeveloped regions. 2 schools have been built in Uganda, 700 children attend those schools, over 100 children in those schools are sponsored by people in Northern Ireland and the 2 way communication increases awareness of global issues in Northern Ireland citizens. Health promotional, educational and sports development programmes are delivered alongside teacher training by Charlene’s Project in the schools we have built. Educational and community development benefits are clearly evidenced in the physical presence of the schools and feedback around the benefit of the programmes delivered in the schools. There is no potential harm from the purposes. There are no unintended outcomes from either purpose and there are no private benefits to Trustees through either purpose.
... [more] [less]What your organisation does
We continue to aim to inspire and motivate people here in NI and further afield to make a difference in the lives of children and their families in Uganda.... just as Charlene set out to do when she first founded the project This is done through provision of education, sport and health promotion programmes, the provision of clean water,
humanitarian distribution, and assistance of any kind that will help the communities we are involved with in Uganda to become healthier, more self sufficient and better educated communities.
