the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation: The public benefits arising from this purpose are enhanced activity, engagement and participation by young and older members of the community and an improvement in their well-being and quality of life. These benefits can be evidenced by records kept by Pepper Johns Memorial, feedback from the pariticpants and evaluations carried out by funders. No harm or private beenfit arises from this purpose. (c) Establish and maintain a community facility: The public benefit that arises from this purpose is the increased efficiency and effectiveness of the community, voluntary and religious organisations that use the facility, resulting in enhanced outcomes and service delivery and, consequently, an improved quality of life for those who benefit from the work of these organisations. These benefits can be evidenced by monitoring, quantative and qualitative evaluations of the work of the organisations using the facility and feedback from individuals participating in their activities and events. No harm or private benefit arises from this purpose.

What your organisation does

Pepper Johns Memorial will be converting a dilapidated building into a community facility comprised of three meeting rooms together with a small kitchen area and toilet facilities including disabled toilets. This facility will be made available to voluntary, community and religious organisations and to the public. Religious study classes will also

be held at the facility.

Charitable purposes

To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Downpatrick and surrounding areas (hereinafter called 'the area of benefit') without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions, by associating the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. Establish or secure the establishment of a community facility and maintain and manage it and promote other such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
