Public benefits
The benefits of the Company’s purposes The direct benefits of the Company’s purposes are: 1. Altered attitudes in society to the concept of disability and those living with disabilities; 2. The end of the internalized shame of people with disabilities caused by centuries old societal prejudices and stereotypes; 3. The acceptance that disability
is a natural part of human diversity in which people living with disabilities can take pride in their contribution to society; and 4. Equal opportunities within society for those living with disabilities. Demonstrating the benefits of the Company’s purposes The Company will demonstrate that it achieves its purposes by canvassing the opinions of those living with disabilities who participate in and contribute to our events and their carers, to gauge their enjoyment of the Company’s events and obtaining feedback on their experiences following participation in the same. Does any potential harm outweigh the benefits of the Company’s purposes? The Company does not consider that any harm is reasonably foreseeable from its endeavours to achieve its purposes. Beneficiaries The Company’s beneficiaries are, particularly, persons living with disabilities in the greater Belfast area and their carers. More generally, the Company hopes that its activities will benefit all the citizens of the greater Belfast area by altering the public perception of the concept of disability. Private Benefit The Company does not consider that any private benefit is reasonably foreseeable from its endeavours to achieve its purposes. Any private benefit which does accrue to any individual will be no more than incidental in nature.
