Public benefits
The direct benefit which flows from this purpose includes the relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, the advancement of education, the prevention and relief of poverty and the advancement of citizenship or community development by providing advice, guidance and support
through practical work experience and vocational training programmes in an operational restaurant which is a training facility with qualified teaching personnel to re-train young people, some with learning disabilities, in the catering and hospitality sector. This training and education will empower and inspire these young people and in turn it will promote their job skills, experience and confidence in order to find employment. The charity will liaise with other the statutory and local authorities and community and voluntary organisations in a common effort to relieve youth unemployment with the ultimate objective of improving the conditions of life for young people. Benefits are evidenced through feedback from young people involved, the personnel involved in training and members of the public who visit the restaurant. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in Northern Ireland. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training in good governance, finance etc. through this training trustees gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These skills are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to the beneficiaries.
