Relieve poverty, sickness and the aged and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Castle Street, Seymour Drive, Westgate and Gate End and district area of Ballymoney and its environs. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include increased information for local people and reduced isolation. In the area isolation has reduced
due to the activities provided with large numbers of older people attending activities such as luncheon club, reminiscence evenings and social events. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. There are no private benefits. ....... by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, The direct benefits which flow include residents availing of opportunities to gain skills and experience by taking part in training courses. Quite a number of local residents have attended different courses such as digital inclusion, food hygiene training, first aid training. Such courses have helped local people to become more familiar with the computerised world and have fostered a desire to continue to learn among some. The purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries are those living within the area of benefit. A private benefit to trustees may arise from the trustee developing skills and experiences through organising and attending the training which may be useful other settings. This benefit is incidental and necessary in the delivery of the benefits. o provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are reduced anxiety among older people and a more responsive community. Through our luncheon clubs we regularly invite guests from different organisations to provide information and advice, such as the local crime prevention officer, benefits advice, local pharmacist, etc. Such talks have left our residents better informed on a range of topics and have reduced anxiety with some with all the scaremongering about welfare reform, etc. We have also seen a reduction in anti-social behaviour in the area due to our close links with the local Police. Friendships have developed among the beneficiaries and residents will look out for each other. The purpose does not give rise to any harm. A private benefit to trustees may arise from the trustee developing skills and experiences through organising and attending the courses/trips/events which may be useful other settings. Some of our Trustees attend the Luncheon Club to help out with tea’s etc which could be considered a private benefit as they would not be the target beneficiaries. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to the beneficiaries. - establish or to secure the establishment of a Community Centre and to maintain and manage or to cooperate with any local authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the association and its constituent bodies in furtherance of the above objects. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are an accessible venue within the local community, the utilisation of a building in the area availability of the Centre for use by local residents. The Centre is a hive of activity and houses a playgroup, youth club as well as the activities we provide ourselves. The purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries are those living within the area of benefit. A private benefit to trustees may arise from the trustee developing skills and experiences through acting as key holder for the Centre which may be useful other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to the beneficiaries.

Castle Community Association provide a range of services to the local community. - We provide a weekly Luncheon club for local residents who are 50+ years who really enjoy the food as well as the social interaction. - We provide Reminicscence evening for members of the local community. - We provide health fairs for the local community to
provide advice and information to the local community. - We provide a fun day for local children in the area. - We provide bus trips for local people to various locations in Northern Ireland for those within the community who have little opportunity to visit by themselves. - We take part in Good Practice visits to other communities to learn from projects that they are undertaking. - We circulate community newsletters to the local residents to keep them up to date what has happened and upcoming events. We attend various meetings with various statutory agencies through the Ballymoney District Inter Agency to raise issues of concern as well as have regular contact with the PSNI.
