Public benefits

Hope House is an apartment in Whitehead by the sea which will provide a quiet , stress free environment which would be beneficial to cancer patients during this difficult time. No one should suffer in silence or feel isolated. We hope to use Hope House one day a week to offer personal confidential prayer ministry and support for patients , and

their family or friends. This will be arranged through a private appointment . Some members of the Hope House team will have experienced a personal cancer diagnosis or will have been involved in the care of a family member or friend. We know the impact cancer has on families and the fears of dying , suffering and pain. We know what its really like to live with cancer and the life changing experience it brings to the mind , body and spirit. We know the impact cancer has on families and the suffering and pain that a diagnosis brings with it . Hope House aims to provide people who have had a recent diagnosis of cancer with complimentary , short stay accommodation . This would enable the users of the home to have rest and recuperation breaks. Our purpose will also be to help them cope with the emotional stress of a diagnosis of cancer and chemotherapy treatments. There will be no medical care given at Hope House . A relaxing stress free environment has been proven to help patients and families deal with the emotional stress that comes from cancer diagnosis and treatment. Feedback from those that use will Hope House will enable us to demonstrate the benefits to the people using the home. As there is no charge for using the home there can be no private benefit or potential harm from our aim.

(S) Quotes from indirect beneficiaries: I have to say this house is the most tranquil place I have ever been, since losing my little 9 year old daughter (R). I never thought I would ever find any joy in my life! I was wrong, being here in Hope House has shown me that. I have learnt to smile again without feeling guilty and for that I am so very grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. (L) My daughter and I enjoyed the comfort, peace and privacy during our stay here. Just what we needed at this time! God Bless all who stay here.
