Public benefits

Purpose: To advance the Jewish religion for the benefit of the public in Northern Ireland, in accordance with the doctrines of the Jewish Religion by the celebration of divine services and other religious activities. Beneficiaries: People living in Northern Ireland Benefit: The congregation feel a sense of belonging to a

community of like minded people. Worshiping together gives a sense of wellbeing and togetherness. Being part of the Jewish religion expects you to live a moral existence - living by guidelines on how to live one's life and how to conduct yourself with fellow human beings. Having faith in the Jewish religion give one a sense of of hope. Ultimately it benefits the wider community in people trying to live peaceful harmonious lives with love at the centre. Demonstrating the benefit: Religious services are held every Thursday and Saturday. They are also held on High Holy days and at other times when required. Times of Services are posted on a notice board in the porch at the entrance to the Synagogue. Purpose: To provide recreational, educational and leisure activities in the interests of social welfare for members and others designed to enhance their conditions of life. Beneficiaries: Members of the BJC and others in the wider community. Benefit: We have an aging congregation and social activities brings not only our older people together but other people outside the Jewish religion who want to come along. The activities not only help to relieve isolation and/or loneliness but helps to keep the mind sharp. Demonstrating the benefit: Bridge is organised on a weekly basis. Our 'Wednesday Club' caters for BJC members but also the wider community and meets on a bi-weekly basis and have talks on a wide variety of topics, e.g. Travel, History, Health and safety etc. In addition, educational tours of the Synagogue and seminars are conducted for the benefit of the wider community.

The Congregation is called the Belfast Jewish Community. It provides religious services in accordance with the Orthodox Jewish Tradition and practices and provides social amenities for its members.

To Advance the Jewish religion for the benefit of the public in Northern Ireland, in accordance with the doctrines of the Jewish religion by the celebration of devine services and other religious activities. 2. To provide recreational and leisure time activities in the interest of social welfare for the members and others designed to improve their conditions of life.
