this? This is evidenced through internal and external auditing and evaluation to funders and the area’s integrated partnership. Art 6.1.1 The benefits which flow from this purpose includes :greater access to education; greater access to training; greater community capacity; greater health equalities; greater area prosperity; greater social mobility. How can we demonstrate this? The benefit is secured through our funded dedicated units who provide community based projects. This is evidenced through internal and external auditing and evaluation to funders and the area’s integrated partnership. Art 6.1.2 What benefits flows from this purpose? The benefits which flow from this purpose include: people gain employment; greater prosperity; greater social capital and greater social mobility. How can we demonstrate this? The benefit is secured through our dedicated employability unit who provide community based projects. This is evidenced through internal and external auditing and evaluation to funders and the area’s integrated partnership. Art 6.1.3 Who is the benefit for? The benefits which flow from this purpose include: raising of education achievements; greater skills development; greater employability; greater prosperity greater client confidence and greater social capital How can we demonstrate this? The benefit is secured through our funded dedicated units who provide community based projects. This will be demonstrated by way of NINIS, NISRA statistics, community audits, independent research annual reports and reports to funders. Art 6.1.4 Who is the benefit for? The benefits which flow from this purpose includes greater skills capacity; greater personal confidence, greater opportunity for employment and greater prosperity The benefit is secured through our funded dedicated unit: Outsource and Job Assist Centre. The projects work to provide technical assistance and business consultancy to stakeholders who wish to start their own business or require support to develop their existing business. This is evidenced through internal, external auditing and evaluation Art 6.1.5 What benefits flows from this purpose The benefits which flow from this purpose includes include greater social inclusion, the reduction of social marginalisation and improved health outcomes. How do we demonstrate this? USDT’s through its project teams are able to provide bespoke recreational facilities for the targeted groups. This is evidenced through internal and external auditing and evaluation to funders and the area’s integrated partnership. Art 6.1.6 The benefits which flow from this purpose includes: enhancement of the physical environment; creates a sense of place and distinctiveness; contributes to community cohesion; contributes to social health and wellbeing; fosters civic pride and confidence and raises quality of life. How can we demonstrate this? This is evidenced through internal and external auditing and evaluation to funders and the area’s integrated partnership. Art 6.2 What benefits flows from this purpose The benefits which flow from this purpose includes greater skills capacity leading to greater social inclusion How do we demonstrate this? USDT’s through its project teams are able to provide bespoke skills and capacity building training. This is evidenced through internal and external auditing and evaluation to funders and the area’s integrated partnership.

The promotion for the public benefit of urban regeneration in the area of benefit by all or any of the following means: 6.1.1. the relief of poverty, in such ways as may be thought fit; 6.1.2. the relief of unemployment in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment; 6.1.3. the advancement of education, training

or retraining, particularly among the unemployed and providing the unemployed with work experience; 6.1.4. the provision of financial assistance, technical assistance or business advice or consultancy in order to provide training and employment opportunities for the unemployed in cases of financial or other charitable need through help: 6.1.4.1. in setting up their own businesses; or 6.1.4.2. to existing businesses. 6.1.5. the provision or assistance in the provision of recreational facilities for those who by reasons of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances, have need of such facilities 6.1.6. To promote and create opportunities for participation in the arts in the community. 6.2. The development of the capacity and skills of the members of the Upper Springfield community in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society.

Charitable purposes

The objects of the Company shall be to promote the benefit of inhabitants of the Upper Springfield area of Belfast and its environs (the “area of benefit”) without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or political, religious or other opinions by: 6.1. The promotion for the public benefit of urban regeneration in the area of benefit by all or any of the following means: 6.1.1. the relief of poverty, in such ways as may be thought fit; 6.1.2. the relief of unemployment in such ways as may be thought fit, including assistance to find employment; 6.1.3. the advancement of education, training or retraining, particularly among the unemployed and providing the unemployed with work experience; 6.1.4. the provision of financial assistance, technical assistance or business advice or consultancy in order to provide training and employment opportunities for the unemployed in cases of financial or other charitable need through help: 6.1.4.1. in setting up their own businesses; or 6.1.4.2. to existing businesses. 6.1.5. the promotion of industry and commerce by the preservation or improvement of the quality of products or services; 6.1.6. the maintenance, improvement or provision of public amenities; 6.1.7. the provision or assistance in the provision of recreational facilities for those who by reasons of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances, have need of such facilities 6.1.8. To promote and create opportunities for participation in the arts in the community. 6.2 The development of the capacity and skills of the members of the Upper Springfield community in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society.
