What your organisation does

Public Achievement’s primary activity is youth work. Working with young people on a regular (normally weekly) basis in their own communities. We help young people to develop their capacity as active citizens in their communities. These local groups are supported by one or more volunteer ‘coach’ - who is a person trained and supported to work with

groups using our ‘Civic Youth Work’ model. These groups deliver ‘action projects’ or campaigns based around issues that are important to them. In our WIMPS (Where Is My Public Servant?) project these projects are often addressed through visual media and on-line campaigns. In our Away from Violence projects they tend to be projects delivered in local communities and presented to local or wider audiences. Additionally we make films, do training and deliver evaluations for other organisations in our sector as a way of bringing additional income into the charity.
