Public benefits

Purpose 1; Imroved relationships between school and home. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resourses for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. This purpose does not lead

to harm. The benefit is for children at Eglinton Primary School. Charity trustees ( PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Purpose 2; Advancing the education of pupils in the school. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct funding. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for children at Eglinton Primary School. Charity trustees ( PTA committee members) are also usually parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

Our PTA is made up of a group of elected parents and staff. Our school principal is our Honourary president. We aim to include all parents and staff in our operation by inviting parents and staff to share their skills and help at our events, eg. face painting, serving refreshments, being quiz master or compere at events. We publish monthly

newsletters and invite feedback as we believe good communication is key to PTA sucess. Our PTA organises several fundraising events throughout the year which are open to the Eglinton village community and welcome the support and participation of local business. We have funded fun events for the children after sports day for example and used funds to buy sports kits, play equipment ,computors and help subsidise school trips. The PTA agree expeniture of funds raised with the school principle to ensure maximum benefit to all pupils.
