Public benefits

Purpose One The benefits which flow from this purpose includes improved health outcomes, reduced levels of stress and anxiety, increased access to arts and cultural activities, reduce feelings of isolation and improved community relations. These benefits can be demonstrated through feedback, questionnaires and ongoing evaluation. There will be no

harm caused. The charity’s benefits are provided to the inhabitants of Kilkeel and the wider Mourne district. A private benefit to trustees may arise from their access to the improved facilities, but these are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose Two The benefits which flow from this purpose includes improved skills outcomes, enhanced employment outcomes, increased feelings of self worth and confidence, community development. These benefits can be demonstrated through feedback, questionnaires and ongoing evaluation. There will be no harm caused. The charity’s benefits are provided to the inhabitants of Kilkeel and the wider Mourne district. A private benefit to trustees may arise from their access to a more skilled employment pool, but these are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose Three Kilkeel Charitable Trust was established to promote environmental improvements and to protect the local environment of the inhabitants living in Kilkeel and the wider Mourne District. The benefits which flow from this purpose includes, increased quality of the local environment, enhance environmental management, increase aesthetic appeal, local heritage and environmental interpretation, protecting local habitat and increased feeling of citizenship. These benefits can be demonstrated through feedback, questionnaires and ongoing evaluation. There will be no harm caused. The charity’s benefits are provided to the inhabitants of Kilkeel and the wider Mourne district. A private benefit to trustees may arise from their living in an improved society and environment, but these are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose Four Kilkeel Charitable Trust was established to promote/ facilitate the provision of advice, signposting, services which will be of particular benefit to a range of disadvantages groups including the old, long term unemployed, young people, people with disabilities living in Kilkeel and the wider Mourne District. The benefits which flow from this purpose includes, increased feelings of self worth and confidence, improvements to social welfare, improved community relations, assist with community development, improved chances of employment. These benefits can be demonstrated through feedback, questionnaires and ongoing evaluation. There will be no harm caused. The charity’s benefits are provided to the inhabitants of Kilkeel and the wider Mourne district. A private benefit to trustees may arise from their access to more services, but these are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose Five Kilkeel Charitable Trust was established to promote local industrial/ commercial development with the object of improving the quality/ condition of life for such inhabitants living in Kilkeel and the wider Mourne District. The benefits which flow from this purpose includes, increased economic benefit, increased employment opportunities and improved quality of life. These benefits can be demonstrated through feedback, questionnaires and ongoing evaluation. There will be no harm caused. The charity’s benefits are provided to the inhabitants of Kilkeel and the wider Mourne district. A private benefit to trustees may arise from their access to more local traders, but these are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

Kilkeel Charitable Trust was established for the advancement of: citizenship, community development, arts, culture, heritage, environmental protection, environmental improvement. Kilkeel Charitable Trust will promote for the public benefit of the inhabitants of the town and district of Kilkeel without distinction of sex, race, political, religious

views. Kilkeel Charitable Trust therefore provides benefits to children from ages 5 – 13years old, 14 – 25 years old, general public, adult training, ethnic minorities, men, women, specific areas of deprivation, unemployed/low income, voluntary sector, community sector, learning disabilities, mental health, physical disabilities, women, older people. Kilkeel Charitable Trust aims to deliver the public benefits outlined above to the inhabitants of the town and district of Kilkeel, Kilkeel Charitable Trust will liaise/ work in partnership with a range of statutory authorities, voluntary, community organisations, the inhabitants of Kilkeel in a common effort to promote, develop the area of benefit. Kilkeel Charitable Trust applies for funding for a range of projects that will deliver the aims and outcomes of the charity.

Charitable purposes

The Company's objects are: To promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of the town and district of Kilkeel (herinafter described as the area of benefit) without distinction of sex, race, political , religious or other opinion by: i) providing facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation and for general public use; ii) promoting and advancing education and vocational training or retraining, particularly among the unemeployed; iii) promoting environmental improvement and protection of the local environment in the interest of public benefit; iv) promoting and facilitating the provision of services which will be of particualr benefit to a range of disadvantaged groups including the old, long term unemploted, young people, and people with disabilities; v) promoting local industrial/commercial development with the object of improving the quality and conditions of life for such inhabitants; vi) fostering peace and reconciliation between the inhabitants of the area of benefit and of Northern Ireland. To liaise and work in partnership with a range of statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations, and the inhabitants of Kilkeel in a common effort to promote and develop the area of benefit.
