Public benefits

It is the responsibility of the Elders of the Church, through the teaching Elder, i.e. the Minister, to provide an education of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible to the general public living within the local area of Banbridge and surrounding district. The benefit that this will provide is that it will bring people to a living awareness of

Christ as Head of our Church. People will become aware of the teachings of the Bible and the love of God and this knowledge will enrich their daily lives. Coming together as a congregation to worship will also be of benefit to those feeling isolated or living alone. These benefits are evidenced through our increasing church membership, as reported in our Annual Report. There is no risk of harm to anyone, as everyone who attends, does so at their own freewill. There are private benefits to our Minister, who receives a salary, and the church organist and church caretaker, who are paid a small nominal fee. These private benefits are necessary to carry out our purposes and are therefore incidental.

What your organisation does

Our church was founded in Banbridge in 1716. Regular morning worship is held every week on a Sunday Morning from 10 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. Other special services are held during the year - Harvest Services, baptisms, marriages, funerals. Adverts are placed in the local press inviting members of the public to our special services e.g. Harvest Services.
