Public benefits
Purpose 1 To further the gospel of Jesus Christ in the ‘Third World’ beginning in Kenya and its neighbours in East Africa; The direct benefits include improved knowledge amongst children of primary school age of the Bible and the merits of faith in Christ through the teachings of our teams and improved access to pastoral training (through financial
help) which in turn empowers pastors to implement practical projects in their congregations. Our work provides a sense of opportunity and dignity to fellow human beings in desperate situations, improved missionary work and encouraged participation in Christian missions in the UK and Ireland. Purpose 2 To relieve poverty in the ‘Third World’ beginning in Kenya and its neighbours in East Africa by the various means outlined; The direct benefits include improvements in: Medical care; where locals benefit from improved health due to e.g. the provision of de-worming tablets at clinics or subsidised medical costs when ill, improved sanitation, medicine, care facilities etc. Food: the receipt of meals and alleviation of poverty amongst children leading to improved concentration and nutrition at schools. Education: improved facilities for those engaged in education including classrooms, books, stationery and computers etc through practical or financial assistance or basic teacher training as well as reduced education costs through sponsorship. Local Economies: through access to temporary or longer term opportunities to earn money by working alongside our teams or to financial training/micro finance projects to support local incomes. These also increase self-sufficiency. Housing: through the provision of homes or building assistance to families brought to our attention as being in extreme need, or the provision of a home for abandoned or poor children or sufferers of HIV/AIDS. In order to avoid duplication of effort, and best use of resources, partnerships are encouraged with similar organisations in the areas of benefit such as charities, churches, local agencies etc. The benefits can variously be evidenced or demonstrated through; records of the numbers of beneficiaries who gain new employment, new homes, educational or other qualifications and overall improvements in localities as well as the numbers, motivation and feedback of missionary workers, other agencies or, importantly, the local beneficiaries who testify to our work. Our beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the Third World and particularly those in Kenya and surrounding countries. Trustees endeavour to ensure that harm does not arise directly or indirectly and there are no private benefits to unintended beneficiaries.
