The benefits that flow from Killyleagh Football Club’s charitable purposes are: (i) improved community life and greater social cohesion between communities through sports and recreation facilities being maintained so that they can be used by all communities; (ii) improvements in fitness and health and sense of well-being for all ages. These

benefits are evidenced through health studies and surveys which conclude that participation in sport and recreational activities improves health and well-being and, where people from different communities or backgrounds engage together, can strengthen social cohesion. No harm arises from these purposes. The club's fees are charged to cover running costs. These are reasonable, transparent and non-exclusive.

What your organisation does

Killyleagh Football Club currently runs seven football teams, encompassing men, women and youths aged between eight and eighteen. Killyleagh Football Club provides leisure facilities for the residents of Killyleagh and the surrounding area for the playing of football. Killyleagh Football Club provides facilities for the community of Killyleagh and

the surrounding area for non-sporting activities, trainings and workshops, functions and community events.

Charitable purposes

The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are to:- (1) Promote amateur sport and community participation in healthy recreation as well as social development of the players and their families by providing facilities for the playing of association football for the residents of Killyleagh and surrounding district. (2) Provide and assist in providing facilities for other sports, recreation and leisure-time occupations for the public at large or for such persons who have need for such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances.
