Purpose 1 To provide or assist in the provision of advice, information and support to one-parent families What benefit flows from this purpose? The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the relief of poverty, the reduction of stress and anxiety among lone parents and their families in Northern Ireland. Can you demonstrate this? The
benefits are demonstrated from feedback from clients and families, through the maintenance and records and the collection of statistical information. Is any harm or possibility of ham out-weighted by the benefits? This purpose does not lead to harm Who is the benefit for? The beneficiaries for this purpose are lone parents and their families living in Northern Ireland who have experienced bereavement, relationship breakdown or single parenthood. Is there any private benefit? Is it incidental or necessary? The private benefit flowing from this purpose is that gained by a Trustee who is a lone parent and uses the service. This trustee accesses and uses the service in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefits provided to all our beneficiaries. Purpose 2 To raise awareness of the needs of and the position in the community of one parent-families. What benefit flows from this purpose? The direct benefits which flow from this purpose is a more well-educated public aware of the nature, causes and effect of hardship on one parent families. Can you demonstrate this? The benefits are demonstrated through feedback from service users and members of the public as well as reviewing public attitude to one parent families by the organisation. Is any harm or possibility of ham out-weighted by the benefits? This purpose does not lead to harm Who is the benefit for? The beneficiaries for this purpose are the general public. Is there any private benefit? Is it incidental or necessary? There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose is the development of targeted services for one parent families, reducing poverty, stress and anxiety of one parent families and increasing a well-educated public aware of the nature, causes and effect of hardship on one parent families. Can you demonstrate this? The benefits are demonstrated through feedback from service users and members of the public as well as reviewing public attitude to one parent families by the organisation. Charitable purposes
The Company is established for the advancement of education and the relief of poverty, suffering and distress among one-parent families in Northern Ireland without distinction of sex, disability, race, political, religious or other opinion, and for the provision of other leisure-time occupation of families who have need of such facilities by reason of their poverty or social and economic circumstances in order that their conditions of life might be improved, and in particular: 1. to provide or assist in the provision of advice, information and support to one-parent families; 2. to raise awareness of the needs of and the position in the community of one-parent families; 3. to promote study and research into the needs of one-parent families provided that the useful results of such research shall be published; 4. to contribute to education in the development of policy and practice of benefit to one-parent families.
