Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from purpose 1 includes children and young people understanding their bodies are the Temples of the Holy Spirit and should be treated accordingly. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 2 includes children and young people being provided with accurate information about the dangers of alcohol and drugs and
encouraging them to think through the issues. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 3 includes the reduction in damage caused by alcohol and drugs. The benefits are demonstrated by: (A) the number of work books purchased within any reporting period and by whom, (B) the letters that our educational officer receives from schools, (C) the school functions that the Educational Officer gets invited to outside of the direct work, (D) the response to, and participation in our competitions by schools; and, the enthusiasm that the young people display, (E) the recognition by the local civic drugs and alcohol forum that we have received by being invited to participate as one of the few bodies who work on the preventative side of the problem, and, (F) the recognition we receive through sponsorship e.g. of our annual competitions No harm is caused to anyone. The beneficiaries are the children and young people of North West Ulster and throughout Ireland . Incidental benefit is derived by our Education Officer who, per the M&AA must be an ordinary member, is paid for his services. We also pay towards accountancy fees for Hope North West Temperance; and, management services for our Education Officer. From time to time we give gift vouchers (~£50) to individuals including Board Members in recognition of length of service or other such minuted reasons.
