PURPOSE ONE The association is established to promote the preservation and protection of health by the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure-time occupation in the interests of social welfare for the benefit of the public in East Belfast without regard to age, ability, disability, ethnic identity, national identity or religion.
The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include improved health, reduced stress levels and anxiety. The sense of belonging to a community and being a team member. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from members, professional groups, and independent external evaluations from numerous authorities. In providing this facility there is a risk of unintended injury from the training provided but this is rare and the benefit outweighs the harm in the long term. The clubs beneficiaries are people living in East Belfast who want to improve their health in a community environment. This includes family and friends of those in the local community. A private benefit to members may arise from our training and educational programme whereby experience and skills which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental but not necessary although may lead to more investment at local level. PURPOSE TWO Educate and assist young people aged 9 – 25 through boxing and other recreational activities so as to develop their physical fitness, mental and emotional capacities that they grow to full maturity as individuals and citizens and that their conditions of life may be improved. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the reduction in stress and anxiety among young people is the increased self awareness, confidence, well being, mental and physical preservation of their health. These benefits are witnessed through feedback from the individuals’ personal development and goals, family input, professional independent surveys and interviews. This purpose does not give rise to harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are those living in East Belfast who have been subject to participating in this project, they also include family and friends who will see the benefits of taking part. A private benefit flowing from this purpose is that gained by a member who has children who use the service. This benefit is incidental and necessary to promote full maturity and improved conditions of life.

Eastside ABC, provide coaching and training for amateur boxers. The club is also open to anyone that wishes to improve their fitness and standard of health. The gym helps to keep kids off the streets in the local area and promotes discipline and learning within the younger members.
