Public benefits

The direct benefits which flow from purpose 3 (a) (i) include a holistic approach to each individual whom we serve. We look not just at the presenting or outward problem or care but attend to the whole person in the hope of a lasting improvement to their knowledge level and self-awareness/esteem. These benefits are demonstrated through evaluation

forms and comment forms which are completed at each possible opportunity. Figures are collated each year to ascertain the impact and the scope of our services. The purposes may lead to the following harm – when there is distress after a pregnancy test result is given to the client. There can be a mixture of responses from disbelief, anger, joy and fear. We can show that this harm is outweighed by the benefits through our support services to the client and then our comprehensive information, advice and support given. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 3 (a) (ii) include improved health outcomes with reduced stress levels and because our clients are supported throughout they will be less likely to have anxiety, worry and fear about the way ahead and in dealing with the decisions which they have to make. Information can allay the anxiety. These benefits are demonstrated through the statics and outcomes of our service to the clients. They will evaluate our service and support in a usage basis. Much of the feedback we get is in receiving other clients who come to us through word of mouth recommendations. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 3 (a) (iii) include our clients developing their skills and understanding of the outcomes of making wrong or impulsive choices especially within relationships and sexual activity which can lead to life changing outcomes e.g. a pregnancy. The clients can make informed choices which will benefit them. These benefits are demonstrated through the statics and outcomes of our service to the clients. They will evaluate our service and support in a usage basis. The weekly drop in facility in one of the local schools is confidential and is used by pupils of varying ages. Our involvement with the local schools has been monitored by the school Counsellors which to date has proved to be positive. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 3 (b) include opportunities to demonstrate to all who avail of our services the outworking of an inward belief that the love of God is for the good of all. This is a direct outworking and reality to give care and to help practically when needs are presented to us. This benefit is demonstrated in the verbal feedback which we receive from our clients who avail of our services. There are letters and cards received and also feedback forms which we ask the clients to complete. The direct benefits which flow from purpose 3 (c) include opportunities for the local churches to support the centre and the clients practically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. The church partner with us in supplying finances and personnel and sharing their resources in this way. Helps to promote real relationship and partnership amongst the local churches which leads to more acceptance and understanding The on-going financial support from the churches attests to their recognition of the value of the work carried out. There is no harm coming from our purposes other than that previously noted. The charity’s beneficiaries are all clients who avails of our services, and by the nature of our service can be of benefit to their spouse, partner, family, and friends. Others who may benefit are the GPs, Midwives and nurses who may also deal with the client; the local schools who partner with us to provide training, encouragement and mentoring; the wider community; local churches who are involved in our work. There is no private benefit flowing from our purposes.
