Purpose 1 What benefit flows from this purpose? The direct benefits which flow from advancing the social welfare and education will be better employment opportunities for the inhabitants of the Corcreeny area which will lead to a better standard of living.The direct benefits which flow from advancing recreation and other leisure-time

occupations will be a better standard of living through a more active and ultimately healthier style of life. Can you demonstrate this? A survey has been conducted among the Corcreeny Community to ascertain the needs of the community and how these can be addressed by this charity. These needs, addressed in the Purpose above will be continually reviewed and assessed through public forums and questionnaires to ensure the needs of the community are being adequately cared for. Is any harm or possibility of harm outweighed by the benefit? The purposes of this charity will lead to no harm or any negative impact on the community. The purposes of this charity are beneficial only. Who is the benefit for? The charities main beneficiaries are geographically centred on the residents of the Corcreeny area. This is a community which is isolated from the nearest town and has very poor provision of public transport. Is there any private benefit? Is it incidental or necessary? There is no private benefit. Purpose 2 What benefit flows from this purpose? The direct benefits which flow from knowledge and participation of the Ulster-Scots language will lead to a better understanding of cultural backgrounds and what similarities many cultures share and therefore gain a mutual respect for all. Can you demonstrate this? Inhabitants of the Gibson’s Hill area will be routinely surveyed regarding the charity as a hole and how the Community Hall is fulfilling their needs. Part of this survey will ascertain how their cultural awareness has increased and what difference this makes to their lives. Is any harm or possibility of harm outweighed by the benefit? The purposes of this charity will lead to no harm or any negative impact on the community. The purposes of this charity are beneficial only. Who is the benefit for? The charities main beneficiaries are geographically centred on the residents of the Corcreeny area. What your organisation does

Our organisation runs a community hall to provide services to the local community e.g. the hall facilitates a credit union offering financial service to the community. We run events in the hall for the local community incorporating all age groups, either with age specific events, e.g. children's parties or wider events to bring the whole community

together e.g. tea and coffee mornings, food nights. Information events are also ran for the community with talks from butchers on safely preparing meet, home safety talks, etc.

Charitable purposes

to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Corcreeny area and its environs (hereinafter described as "the area of benefit") without distinction of age, sex, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of the social welfare, education, recreation or other leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants; • to advance knowledge and appreciation of the Ulster-Scots language and culture and to encourage understanding and acceptance of all indigenous cultures to the area of benefit.
