Public benefits

The purpose of this organisation is to benefit young people between the ages of 11 – 25 years without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinion, in co-operation with other individuals, groups and authorities by advancing education, preserving and protecting health (mental and sexual as well as

physical) and providing facilities in the interests of social well-being for recreation and leisure with the aim of improving the conditions of life of young people and the population in general. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include a safe cross-community space for young people that does not exist elsewhere instead of them hanging about the streets. In addition the young people engage in a variety of emotional health and well-being programmes and activities that enhances their personal development. The social space allows them to interact with young people that they may not normally meet. In addition at times of heightened tension the Centre is open earlier and diversionary activities put in place. These benefits are demonstrated through the number of young people attending the Centre (and these numbers are increasing). In addition all programmes are evaluated by the young people and comments retained. These benefits are also demonstrated through the number of young people who are signposted/supported referral to the health and well-being organisations that we work with. The purpose of our charity will not lead to any foreseeable harm. The Charity’s beneficiaries are young people between 11 – 25 in Fermanagh. In addition organisations on our referral pathways who avail of our facilities free. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is the cost of travel expenses for the Trustees when they attend the Centre for meetings.
