Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from the purpose of relieving poverty amongst people living in the village and surrounding by providing an accessible venue/activities to reduce rural isolation and improve access to services. The direct benefit which flows from advancing educational participants on course eg First Aid is that participants will
benefit from increased skills and educational attainment thus improving their opportunity for employment. Final purpose to provide a venue for social & recreational activity including youth club, Ulster Scots language & Irish classes also increase the skills of participants from the area and reduce isolation thus improving mental & physical health & wellbeing. The group work with other statutory bodies at a strategic level and also other community groups to ensure that local community problems are addressed and improve the conditions of life for the residents of the community. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from participants and also feedback from committee at monthly meetings as they are often in direct contact with participants and can gauge the success of the programmes. There is no harm flowing from any of the purposes. The beneficiaries are those that directly take part in the activities from Douglas Bridge & surrounding area. The only private benefit is the payment of facilitators & trainers and this is incidental & necessary to further the charities aims and objectives.

Our organisations primarily provides a venue for social, recreational and educational activities. We also organise fundraising activities and seasonal events. Seasonal events include Christmas lights switch on when children of the village and surrounding area have the opportunity to come together in a fun and safe environment with their parents
and grandparents to see Santa and sign carols. We also distribute warm bags to those elderly/vulnerable people in our community in the winter months which provide practical items including blankets, socks etc as well as information on services available. We also organise fundraising activities, eg. table quizzes so that we can raise funds to further our purposes. Recently we have organised accredited first aid training for people from the community to increase their skills and educational attainment. We also provide the following courses/workshops Ulster Scots language, Irish language, and craft classes. We ensure the needs of our young people are met by holding a weekly youth club for children/young people from the community
