Public benefits
The improvement of Housing Stock and better living conditions for the residents of the Greater New Lodge Area. The facilitation of community consultation on all housing schemes within the area including Housing redevelopment. Providing the link between the community and Housing providers, so giving the community a voice. Providing the residents of
the area with advice on a range of Housing issues and therefore better equipping them to make decisions on Housing related matters which may affect them. To improve the physical environment of the Area in terms of tidiness and cleanliness making the area a healthier and nicer place to live. We can demonstrate the above benefits by the following means. Regular feedback from the residents in person over the phone or by Email. Regularly holding public meetings to gain feedback from the residents on how we have performed and to generate fresh ideas for the future. Annual reports and accounts are produced at our AGM and we always ask those present for their views on what we have achieved over the last year. Following major Housing and Environmental schemes in the area, New Lodge Housing Forum conducts questionnaires with the residents effected to establish, firstly if they are happy with the scheme and secondly to evaluate our role with assisting their progress and providing advice and support. Our beneficiaries are the residents of the Greater New Lodge area of Belfast, an area with a population of around 6000 and 5th on the deprivation list. It is also a area of high unemployment and a shortest of social housing. There is no private benefit to anyone connected to the New Lodge Housing Forum and that the purposes will not potentially lead to any harm for the beneficiaries.
