The first purpose of Creggan Education and Research Services Ltd is: The advancement of the education of the public and in particular, but not so as to limit the generality of the foregoing, the: (i) presentation and interpretation of cultural traditions, environmental features and human antiquities indigenous to the Mid-Ulster area. The benefit

which flows from this purpose is an improved knowledge and improved awareness of environmental protection issues and human antiquities indigenous to the Mid-Ulster area for the general public availing of the services. These benefits can be demonstrated through feedback from the service users. There is no harm flowing from this purpose and the intended beneficiaries are any member of the general public. No trustee gains a private benefit through this purpose. The second purpose of Creggan Education and Research Services Ltd is: The advancement of the education of the public and in particular, but not so as to limit the generality of the foregoing, the: (ii) promotion of research into the cultural traditions, environmental features and human antiquities and the social and economic history of the Mid-Ulster area and the dissemination and publication of the useful results of such research. The benefit flowing from this purpose is the greater public knowledge of the cultural traditions, environmental features and human antiquities and the social and economic history of the Mid-Ulster area. This is made possible by the research being carried out and the findings being publicised and circulated to the public and anyone interested in local history. Another benefit is the features, artefacts and sites being made open and accessible to anyone interested in the history of the Mid-Ulster area. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The intended beneficiaries are the general public particularly those interested in local history. No trustee gains a private benefit from this purpose.

Benefit Benefits of CERS is outlined below: CERS benefits the local community and visitors through the provision of: • An interpretative exhibition which increases access and knowledge about cultural traditions, archaeology and the environment for the people of Mid-Ulster area and visitors to the area. • Group tours and visits for schools across

the Mid-Ulster area, ensuring local children have access to learning material and resources on site at An Creagán and the local area • Access to An Creagán which increases awareness of culture traditions, archaeology and the environment. • Education facilities which increase awareness and understanding of culture traditions, archaeology and the environment, which ensure that all visitors have increased respect and care for the natural and built environment. • Employment opportunities and facilities which contribute to stimulation of the local economy throughout the Mid Ulster Area

Charitable purposes

The purposes as stated under clause 3 in the Memorandum of Association of Creggan Education and Research Services Ltd are: The objects of the Company shall be the advancement of the education of the public and in particular, but not so as to limit the generality of the foregoing, the: i. presentation and interpretation of cultural traditions, environmental features and human antiquities indigenous to the Mid-Ulster area; ii. promotion of research into the cultural traditions, environmental features and human antiquities and the social and economic history of the Mid-Ulster area and the dissemination and publication of the useful results of such research.
