The trustees believe that all of our purposes satisfy both elements of the public benefit requirement. Purpose 1 The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include enhanced public understanding through access and engagement in the arts. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from participants, audiences and artists, and monitoring
levels of participation and access. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The public beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in Northern Ireland and those engaging within the Northern Ireland dance sector. The private benefit flowing from this is paid professional employment for dancers and choreographers working with the organization. This benefit is necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose 2 The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include improved employability of artists through appropriate training programmes, and strengthening the dance sector through skill building. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from artists and employment providers. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The public beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in Northern Ireland and those young artists in the Northern Ireland dance sector. The private benefit flowing from this purpose is increased skills gained by individuals undertaking the organizations training and educational programmes. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose 3 The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include a greater understanding of the arts, and improved wellbeing from participation in the arts. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from participants and monitoring participation levels. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The public beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in Northern Ireland and those participating in the dance sector. The private benefit flowing from this purpose is increased skills gained by individuals undertaking the organizations training and educational programmes. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose 4 The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include promoting links with education institutions and workplace environments, skills enhancement in artform specific training, mentoring and experience levels of participation. These benefits are evidenced through monitoring levels of employability. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The public beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in Northern Ireland and those young artists in the Northern Ireland dance sector. The private benefit flowing from this purpose is increased skills gained by individuals undertaking the organizations training and educational programmes. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose 5 The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include access to high quality sustainable cultural experiences for all members of the public. These benefits are evidenced through monitoring the number of collaborations across cultural, health, heritage and educational sectors. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The public beneficiaries of this purpose are people living in Northern Ireland and those young artists in the Northern Ireland dance sector. The private benefit flowing from this purpose is increased skills gained by individuals within the collaborative working environment. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

Maiden Voyage is a dance company working across a range of professional, community, health and educational settings. We engage people of all ages and abilities throughout Northern Ireland through a range of dance initiatives and productions, as dance is an underdeveloped art form in the region.
