Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from the organisation’s purposes include:- -the advancement of education on Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis to the general public and those affected by the diseases living within Northern Ireland. -the advancement of health by encouraging people to seek support in the group and reduce the feelings of
confusion, loneliness, or isolation that some people may feel due to being affected by the illness. -the advancement of community development by holding at least three main events a year in our local areas, across Co. Antrim, Co. Derry/Londonderry and Co. Down. We hope to get those within our local communities involved and create a sense of community support and togetherness. Our local communities will also benefit through the events held, bringing more people into our local areas. The events will be open to the public, allowing anyone who wishes to support the event and cause to attend. -providing support to those affected by Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis by talking, sharing experiences, and answering questions based on our own previous experiences. The above benefits will be evidenced through annual feedback from members of the organisation and regular evaluation of our services, ensuring that the organisation is as beneficial to its members as possible. The organisation is set up to benefit those living with Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis in Northern Ireland. Anyone else indirectly affected by these illnesses, such as parents of a child suffering from Crohn’s disease or Ulcerative Colitis, will also benefit from the organisation. The general public will benefit through advancement of education on these illnesses. There will be no harm arising as a result of any of the purposes of the organisation. The only private benefit which will flow from the purposes of the organisation will be the advancement of community support and development for the trustees. This is incidental through our work within our local communities and communication with members of the organisation, and is necessary to help us develop a strong support network and community relations.
