Public benefits

PURPOSE 1: The promotion and furtherance of the Christian Religion. The direct benefit is that the spiritual needs of the people of Northern Ireland are met and they are provided with Christian guidance. This is demonstrated through fellowship with our congregation and hearing accounts of how people’s lives have been changed and improved as a

result of the charity. There is no identifiable harm relating to the charity’s purpose. The charity’s beneficiaries are the people living in Northern Ireland. There are no identifiable private benefits. PURPOSE 2: Combating addiction to drugs, alcohol and substance abuse within Northern Ireland. The direct benefit is that people battling with addictions are provided with a support network, along with their families. The church works with the Stauros Group in Ballyards who run a programme to help people with addictions. Financial aid is given to the work of Stauros. These benefits are evidenced by feedback from those who have sought help. The Stauros Group also run summer activities for the families and friends of those being treated and this has provided a welcome respite. There is no identifiable harm with this purpose. The charity’s beneficiaries are anyone with addictions in Northern Ireland. There is no identifiable private benefits. PURPOSE 3: The relief of poverty, financial and social hardship as need may arise worldwide. The advancement of education of persons worldwideand the relief of sick and disabled persons and the promotion of their physical and spiritual welfare. The direct benefit is the provision of financial support to assist in the building of a church in India. Financial support is also provided to the Philippines Outreach Centre which operates three orphanages one of which looks after children with disabilities. These benefits are evidenced by the physical building of a church in India. This will provide a means of pursuing the charities main objective which is the spreading of the Gospel. Wider uses of the church will be to provide a place to educate children and also a safe place for those in poverty to seek help. The Philippines Outreach Centre cares for able bodied and disabled orphans and receives no financial support from the State. There is no identifiable harm with this purpose. The charity’s beneficiaries are anyone whose need require them to make use of the church in India and the orphanages in the Philippines. Other projects both within Northern Ireland and overseas will be considered as the opportunity arises. There is no identifiable private benefit.

Charitable purposes

The charity’s objects (Objects) are the promotion and furtherance of the Christian religion through: Holding meetings for the promulgation of the Gospel and promotion of physical, mental and spiritual welfare of persons within Northern Ireland. The relief of poverty financial and social hardship as need may arise worldwide by providing goods services medical care and other grants of money for providing or paying for infrastructure items services facilities and otherwise meeting need and deprivation. The advancement of education of persons worldwide without limitation on the generality of this object to promote for public benefit the education of people in such ways as the directors think fit including by •awarding to such persons scholarships maintenance allowances or grants tenable at any university college or institution of higher or further education or to prepare for entry to any occupation trade or profession on leaving any educational establishment •providing for basic education and facilities for education in underdeveloped countries •assisting in such ways as the directors think fit any charity in UK whose aims include advancing education of persons by developing their mental physical and moral capabilities through leisure time activities The relief of sick and disabled persons and promotion of their physical and spiritual welfare. Combating addiction to drugs alcohol and substance abuse within Northern Ireland without limitation on the generality of this object to combat the said addictions for public benefit in such ways the directors think fit including by •the promotion organisation and funding of work among young people to educate about the dangers of drug alcohol and substance abuse and to encourage participation in healthy recreational activities and to promote their physical mental and spiritual welfare •the promotion organisation and funding of lectures and social activities for people of all ages to promote awareness of the dangers of drug alcohol and substance abuse •assisting in such ways as the directors think fit any charity in UK whose aims include combating addiction to drugs alcohol and substance abuse Providing financial support to evangelists missionaries and organisations promoting the Christian religion.
