What are the direct benefits flowing from your organisation's purposes? Daily contact with elderly and isolated & lonely people Reassurance for families enabling independence and giving peace of mind. Helping those in crisis, as a result of bereavement, illness, family problems, by providing short food supply and sign-posting and referals to other

support services. 1) Good Morning Ballycastle: The direct benefits flow from the purpose of reduced social isolation and loneliness , promote health and prevent ill health and assist the service users in living independently in their homes for as long as they can. Improve the quality of life for those in need, reduce levels of stress anxiety and mental health issues and connect the older people to live a healthier, happier and longer life. 2) Ballycastle Foodbank: The benefits flow from food parcels that the people are provided with and the emotional support that they receive from the volunteers. We are helping to eradicate hunger in the community Other needs can also be identified by the volunteers and are signposted to our referral partners such as St Vincent de Paul and Citizens Advice Bureau government agencies. Childrens clubs ie after schools clubs also benefit from food provided. How can the benefits identified above be demonstrated? By daily contact and resolving family crisis by provision of short food supply and offering support through signposting. 1) The benefits are evidenced through the ongoing assessment and feedback from Service Users and their families. 2) The benefits are evidenced by the feedback from the service users and their families and from the governing body The Trussell Trust. Feedback is also received back from the referral agencies. Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes? No. Strictly confidential service Who are the charity's beneficiaries? The charity’s beneficiaries are those aged 60+ living in the Ballycastle, Cushendall, Bushmills area. Needy families in the Ballycastle /Armoy/The Glens & Bushmills Is there any private benefit flowing from any of the purposes? There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose.

What your organisation does

Umbrella Organisation Ballycastle Church Action, Two Projects (1) Good Morning Ballycastle An alert and well-being telephone service to the elderly and vulnerable people who live alone. This service is carried out by one paid staff and a team of volunteers which operates Monday to Friday. (2) Ballycastle Foodbank Under the governance of Trussell

Trust. Supervised by one paid staff & supported by team of trained volunteers. Provides help to those in crisis and offers referrals to other local support services. Referrals for this service come from health centres, local churches, and police welfare. Social Witness refers to actively demonstrating faith and beliefs, by serving God and one another through our church lives and reaching out to those in need, physically or mentally via our values and faith without judgement. This is backed up by our two projects, Good Morning Ballycastle and Ballycastle Foodbank. Our B.C.A. Mission Statement is; We believe that all persons irrespective of their station or circumstances in life have been made in the image of God and must be treated with dignity, justice, and respect. We denounce as sin, racism, sexism, and other expressions that unjustly discriminate against any person.

Charitable purposes

The Charity's objects ('the Objects') are to act as an Ecumenical instrument to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Ballycastle and its environs (the "area of benefit") without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, or political, religious or other opinion by associating with the churches, statutory authorities, voluntary and community organisations and inhabitants in a common effort and within a Christian ethos to: (a) Support and promote the social witness services and activities of its member Churches. (b) Promote and co-ordinate the celebration of public church and interdenominational Christian worship. (c) Through the management of its GOOD MORNING BALLYCASTLE project, reduce the social isolation and loneliness, promote health and prevent ill health and assist those living independently in their homes for as long as they can. (d) Through the management of its BALLYCASTLE FOODBANK project, provide food supplies, nappies and toiletries to individuals and families who find themselves in crisis.
