Public benefits

Benefits include include improved health outcomes and reduced levels of social isolation, stress and anxiety, enhancement of independence and improvement of the quality of life amongst the general public living in the Whitecross area of Northern Ireland. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from residents/participants and through

successful attendance and completion of many programmes. There is no harm arising from our purpose. The general public living in the Whitecross area of Northern Ireland and the surrounding hinterland. There is no private benefit flowing from the purpose of our organisation.

What your organisation does

Whitecross Community Association maintains and manages a community facility (HUB) in the area of benefit for activities promoted by the association and based on the needs of the community residents i.e planned programme of activities including; art classes, youth activities, coffee mornings, cooking classes, education classes etc. We work with

public sector organisations to improve access to services for those living in rural areas and try to reduce rural and social isolation in our community by providing social and educational activities.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Whitecross without distinction of age, gender, sexuality, nationality, ethnic origin, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to relieve poverty, advance education and to provide or assist in providing facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants and in particular: a) to maintain and manage a community facility(HUB) in the area of benefit for activities promoted by the association. b) to maintain and manage a youth club for the children and youth of the said area of benefit.
