The direct benefits flowing from relieving and improving the position of people living in poverty includes an improved standard of living, health and educational outcomes. The direct benefits flowing from advancing education around the causes and impacts of poverty include reduced stigma related to poverty; a clear and amplified collective voice
of the anti-poverty sector; increased partnership working across the anti-poverty sector; increased confidence and evidence based approaches employed by civil servants and politicians creating legislation, policies and action plans relating to poverty. The direct benefits flowing from carrying out research, and sharing research by NIAPN's member organisations include building a stronger evidence base for narratives that validate the experience of poverty and amplify the voice of those experiencing poverty, for anti-poverty legislation and policies and enhances the partnership working across the anti-poverty sector. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback forms from NIAPN's focus groups, case studies and feedback from NIAPN's member organisations, as well as those working within statutory organsations and government departments, and independent evaluations. The benefits can also be demonstrated by the number of NIAPN member organisations, the numbers attending NIAPN events, the social and traditional media reach of NIAPN's publications and press releases and the number of engagements NIAPN has with policy makers. amplifies the voice of those with lived experience of poverty. NIAPN influences policy makers by acting as a critical voice for the anti-poverty sector through lobbying, campaigning, and networking. NIAPN strengthens the anti-poverty lobby by building effective relationships with member organizations and recruiting new members to NIAPN's network.
