The direct benefit that flows from purpose 1: (To provide grants for recreational activities in Residential and Nursing Homes in Northern Ireland) is an improvement in the physical and emotional wellbeing of residents. Stimulating activities provide residents with a sense of purpose; whilst entertainment programs can foster a sense of community for

residents, reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation. The direct benefit that flows from purpose 2: (To raise awareness of be the benefits of recreational activities in Care Homes) is an increased awareness among the public of the need for recreation in Care Homes; thus promoting the charity's cause and encouraging public donations. Purpose 1 is demonstrated by the distribution of grants to Residential and Nursing Homes in Northern Ireland, with the money being used for recreational activities. Purpose 2 is demonstrated by the distribution of literature and social media campaigns. There is no harm arising from either purpose 1 or 2. The charity's beneficiaries are the residents of Northern Ireland's Residential and Nursing Homes. There is no private benefit flowing from the charity's purposes.

What your organisation does

Residential and Nursing Homes are invited to apply to the charity for a financial grant to enable them to provide recreational activities for its residents. The organisation and delivery of such activity remains the responsibility of the Care Home staff. Continued fundraising efforts enable the charity to continue with this primary

purpose. Through the use of literature distribution and social media campaigns, the charity seeks to raise awareness of the benefits of recreational activities for the residents of Residential and Nursing Homes.
