What your organisation does

The Ardglass Old School Committee is renovating an old primary school in Ardglass. This old school has links to the Erasmus school network and also with Thomas Hunter, who went on to establish The Hunter College in New York in 1870. The Ardglass Old School Committee will manage this community facility for the benefit of all residents of Ardglass

and surrounding area without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race, political, religious, disability or other opinion. It will provide facilities for the local people to organise a range of activities for residents of all ages. It will allow young people to organise and participate in a Youth Club. It will provide facilities for local groups and societies. It will also provide a warm and friendly environment where the elderly can come and socialise. It will encourage young people to participate in community activities, networking with other organisations, and improve communications with other local groups. Finally, it will encourage capacity building and help to reduce anti social behaviour and promote community participation, which will in turn create a better appreciation and mutual respect for all.
