The direct benefits are the increased knowledge and awareness of the rich history and culture of the Binevenagh and Roe basin region and the preservation of this knowledge for future generations. The society will develop and increase community participation in the collection, analysis and preservation of information and provide training and
assistance to participants. Participants will benefit by increasing knowledge of their area and have opportunity to develop the necessary skills to undertake their own research. The society will create an archive of information available to its members and general public The benefits will be demonstrated by increased membership in the society through the coming year and volume of attendance at exhibitions, talks and events. The number of attendees will be noted and questionnaires completed to evaluate content and the outcomes used to develop future events and determine focus of society activities. The society’s annual report will identify activity and beneficial outcomes of activities through the previous year. There is no harm arising from any of the outlined purposes of the society. The beneficiaries of the society will be its own members, the residents of Binevenagh and the Roe Basin and wider community and the general public. There is no private benefit identified by the society, however the use of certain venues to hold exhibitions, talks and events will have incidental private benefit which is necessary to fulfil the objectives and purposes of the society.
