What are the direct benefits flowing from your organisation's purposes? Antrim Lions club enjoyed its 50th anniversary last year and over the years and since its formation has been involved in providing charitable donations to a wide variety of worthy charitable causes. In the last five years alone the club has donated over £75K to mostly local
charities in order to improve health, education and welfare. How can the benefits identified above be demonstrated? We have and continue to provide financial support to other charitable and voluntary groups in the area eg Homestart, St Vincent De Paul, Cause (NI). We have been involved in providing defibrillators to a number of venues across the Borough in cooperation with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. We provided a defibrillator to a cross community primary school initiative in Antrim. We continue to provide the talking newspaper service for the visually impaired. Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes? No harm has ever arisen from the club purposes nor are the purposes intended to cause any harm in the future. Who are the charity's beneficiaries? Antrim Lions Club have a wide number of local beneficiaries in the Antrim area. These include but are not exclusive to OASIS (Caring in Action), AYICC (Antrim Youth Information & Counselling Centre), Alzheimers Society Antrim, St Vincent De Paul Antrim and Ballyclare, Women's Aid Antrim, Homestart Antrim and the Antrim branch of St Johns Ambulance. Is there any private benefit flowing from any of the purposes? Is it incidental and necessary? None.

Antrim Lions Club have and continue to organise a number of annual social fundraising events particularly when charitable causes have been identified and nominated to receive funds. In addition funds are also raised by charity golfing competitions as well as Charity Cycle events and sponsored runs and walks. We have in the past carried out
supermarket 'bagpacks' which has also raised the profile and community awareness of the work and activities undertaken. We carry out regular litter picks in the area which is also intended to raise community awareness. At Christmas we distribute hampers to a number of other local charitable organisations for distribution to those in need. In cooperation with Ballymena Lions Club we produce a talking newspaper service for distribution to the visually impaired.
