Direct benefits are improving the quality of life and increasing community involvement of those living in the East End area; here is also enhanced community cohesion, with residents more confident and less socially isolated. Benefits can be demonstrated via resident, statutory & voluntary organisation feedback, as well as via our office visitor

The only private benefit, is the knowledge gained from participating in committee training, such as first aid, fire safety, digital inclusion etc. This is incidental and necessary to enable us to run our Association.

What your organisation does

The Association offers its services via our community office, including community activities and advice/signposting services. We provide help and advice regarding Housing issues, Benefit issues, PIP/DLA enquiries, Universal Credit etc. We work with statutory bodies including the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and Ards & North Down Borough

Council - we raise issues affecting residents and lobby for action / improvements in our area. We also work with voluntary organisations who offer tenancy support and advice services. We provide various activities for senior citizens and youth, and also provide seasonal activities throughout the year.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the East End area and its environs of Newtownards and to promote the protection and preservation of health within the area of benefit by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities of interest of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular; (a) The provision of programmes in order to advance education and to promote the benefit of the beneficiaries, and in particular to youth age 6-18, parents, toddlers, senior citizens and those with disabilities; (b) to maintain and manage or co-operate with any local authority in the maintenance of a centre or centres in the area of benefit for activities promoted by the Association
