Purpose - Advancement of Education 3rd level Academic Scholarships. Benefit that flows from this purpose providing bursaries to high achieving academic students giving them the opportunity to attend university, who given their demographics & background would potentially not have the opportunity to do so. Purpose - Advancement of Amateur Sport QUB

GAA Scholarship. The benefits that flow from this purpose is to give financial assistance to recipients from a disadvantaged background allowing them to focus on studies and sport (on which they excel to a high level) without having to balance this with part-time work. This assistance will also allow them to enjoy their university experience and develop as individuals. Purpose - The relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship, or other disadvantage; Cancer Research - Foundation will fund a doctor, phd student & a nurse to undertake research into early detection of oesophageal cancer. This cancer has the lowest survival rate once detected in males in Northern Ireland. Therefore the benefit that flows from this purpose includes potentially better developing tools to enhance early detection of this cancer potentially increasing the chance of prevention & cure for patients in Northern Ireland. Direct charitable Giving to Simon Community, SVPaul Society, Hospice, NI ChestHeart & Gateway Club and other organisations as the Trustees in their absolute discretion may decide. Benefit flowing from the objects is to benefit charities in areas of health, homelessness, depression, disadvantaged families etc. Community Giving Grant giving for education, sport and orgs. from a disadvantaged Background - This area of donations Foundation will partner with Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, who will ensure for these four grants donated (£5k each) will directly benefit local community associations in Newry that flow directly from the Foundation's objects. 3rd level Academic Scholarships - QUB/UUJ will have the ability to means test all applications as part of the selection process. All awards will be used directly on university fees. Once bursary's have been awarded a regular feedback channel will be established between Foundation, university and student. In the 1st year the Foundation will partner with the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland (CFNI) to give grants to local charities in the Newry area in the areas of education, sport and organisations from disadvantaged areas. For each grant awarded by CFNI will follow their tried and tested process both pre and post selection to ensure benefits are being clearly demonstrated at all time - criteria for selection, decision making and follow up to ensure funds are being utilised as agreed. Cancer Research - These benefits are evidenced through feedback from patients and regular evaluation of the progress of the cancer research versus objectives from the QUB School of Medicine. No. The charity's beneficiaries are: - Other Charitable organisations - Individuals who come from a disadvantaged background -All organisation/recipients of any awards will be based in Northern Ireland. All awards are open to public/organisations within Northern Ireland with exceptions for Foundation's Community giving awards where donations will be made available to Newry area & for direct charity giving five specific named charities will receive a donation on an annual basis. There is no private benefit flowing from any of the purposes.

The Foundation in its first year will work either directly with other charities or with chosen partners to to carry out its purposes. The Foundation will evolve in the areas outlined from the objects in future years to ensure we are continuing to donate and support charitable causes that fulfil the Foundation's charitable objectives. All

awards/donations are in Northern Ireland. Education - 3rd level education Bursaries to children in need due to financial hardship, partnering with QUB, UUJ, local schools to grant awards. Foundation will also partner with the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland to grant 2 awards in areas of education to include provision of enhanced learning outside of schools classes to include, after school clubs, provision of school equipment, book clubs etc Sport - Establish a QUB sporting GAA scholarship for students who excel in both academia and their chosen amateur sport. Foundation will also partner with the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland to provide grants/awards in areas of sport to include sporting equipment, work with organisations that through sport also enhance the development of people particularly those from a disadvantaged background. Disadvantaged Background - In first year to award two grants and donations to organisations in the Newry area who fit the criteria where beneficiaries are in need e.g. community associations that support children and young people and provide assistance to older people in these areas (loneliness, food parcels etc) Other Charitable causes Annual donations to other charities including but not limited to Simon Community, SVPaul Society, Hospice, Gateway Club & NIChestHeart. Partner with QUB school of medicine to fund a doctor, nurse and PHD student for a period of five years to assist in funding their cancer research department within their School of Medicine to undertake direct research in early detection of the causes of oesophageal cancer.
