Altnagelvin Parents Group provide practical support and resources for children with life long and life limiting medical conditions and their parents/ carers who attend Altnagelvin Hospital. We do this by; 1. Providing resources to help make hospital stays less stressful by providing a more comfortable environment. 2. Supporting the setup of a
parent’s room and facilities for parents when on the ward for refreshments. 3. Helping fund equipment to support children and young people with receive the best care and treatment possible in a child friendly and child focused environment. 4. Regular Group Meetings are organised to provide updates and gather information and develop action plans. Families have the opportunity to meet other families who are experiencing journeys. 5. Receive regular feedback from the families who have had recent hospital admissions. 6. Organise regular family events and celebrations throughout the year, bringing together families of children with medical conditions. 7. Campaign on policy issues that will improve outcomes for children life long and life limiting medical conditions.
