Public benefits
1. The direct benefit which flows from purpose 1 is to provide opportunities for our members to participate in musical activities and enhance the musical interests of the public. 2. The direct benefit which flows from purpose 2 is to increase facilities for the musical advancement of the members and to stimulate local interest in the musical and
cultural development of the band. It is also to facilitate the enrichment of the cultural lives of communities in which our members reside and of our audience. 3. The direct benefit which flows from purpose 3 is to promote the playing, understanding and appreciation of concert band music in its various forms and that the cultural lives of the general public of Northern Ireland will be enriched with high quality musical performances. 4. The direct benefit which flows from purpose 4 is the provision of training, inclusion and social interaction in a safe space for band members by way of regular practices, private and public musical engagements and taking part in concerts. 5. The direct benefit which flows from purpose 5 is to foster good relationships and collaboration with other musical organisations within Northern Ireland. The benefits from purpose 1 can be demonstrated by the band’s concert and festival appearances and uploads of our performances on Social Media. The benefit from purpose 2 can be evidenced through the feedback from the general public and increasing audience members who have listened to our performances. The benefit from purpose 3 can be demonstrated by our updating of repertoire. Members come from the local area and the band enables people to participate in a collective musical experience. The benefits from purpose 4 are shown in the high standard of musicianship attained by our members and in the development of novice players and in new players joining the band. Player development is evidenced in their ability to play a range of music. The benefit from purpose 5 is evidenced through our inclusion of all sections of the community without discrimination. Cooperation with other musical groups can be evidenced through concerts and joint ventures with other organisations. Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes? No. Who are the charity's beneficiaries? The general public. A private benefit flows from the purposes in the form of paying minimal expenses to a musical director. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

We bring together members of the community from all walks of life for a collective musical experience. Our purpose is to provide a facility for any person to play an instrument to the best of their ability and to pass on our knowledge and experience to the next generations of musicians to keep the tradition of concert bands alive in our community.
We provide musical entertainment for the entire community. We offer support from a group of volunteers who give their time freely.
