Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from purpose 1 include improved relationships between home and school and also creating links with the local community in a rural setting. The direct benefits flowing from purpose 2 include advancing and supporting the education of pupils within the school. The benefits flowing from purpose 1 are demonstrated through

having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support and encourages good relationships between parents, guardians, staff and the wider rural community. The benefits flowing from purpose 2 are demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events and activities which are not available through direct school funding. No harm arises from either purpose. The beneficiaries are the children at Saint Macartan's primary school along with teachers, staff, parents, guardians and the local surrounding community. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are also parents at Saint Macartan's Primary School which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

The purpose of Saint Macartan's PTA is to support Saint Macartan's Primary School in creating a forum for communication between staff and parents as well as engaging in activities to support the pupils. The PTA is run by a group of volunteer parents and staff to organise social events that develop and strengthen home-school-community relationships

as well as raising funds to purchase educational resources for the children at Saint Macartan's School which are not available through direct school funding.
