What your organisation does

The Firs Playgroup is a cross community playgroup located in Armagh city. Our playgroup environment promotes play based learning for children under statutory school age. Each year we welcome 28 children aged 2years & 10 months – 4 years into our playgroup. Guided by the principles of Early Years education, our HighScope curriculum provides our

children with a rich variety of play activities and other experiences in a stimulating and challenging environment. Our staff engage with each child to support their physically, social, emotionally and cognitive need for their particular stage of development. Our playgroup is ran by a voluntary management committee with Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer - mainly consisting of parents of the current years intake of children, with some previous years' committee members staying on even after their children have left.
