Public benefits
Purpose 1 Raising awareness and understanding of the life changing Christian gospel. Through acceptance of the gospel of Jesus Christ many have been delivered from destructive life styles and have embraced the abundant life Jesus promised. People are invited to embrace the Christian faith however any response is totally voluntary. No pressure is
ever applied. Purpose 2 Health & saving of lives. Attendees receive a warm, validating welcome at the 4/5 day per week Drop-in. They have access to breakfast, a healthy hot lunch, tea & coffee throughout the day. Emergency food supplies are available and help with problems such as housing, benefits, debt management etc. There is always someone to talk to and prayer is always available. Friendships are developed which extend beyond the Drop-in. Purpose 1 With the exception of the GOD slot at men's evening group we do not initiate religious conversations, believing that people will ask questions of their own volition if and wen they want answers. Rather we demonstrate the love of Jesus in how we love and serve them. However we find that spiritual discussions pop up regularly and topics such as forgiveness and repentance take place. Numbers at the centre and at the men's group have risen consistently to the extent we are need a larger building. Feedback from the attendees and from visitors attest to the benefits available from Larne Lighthouse. Purpose 2 There has been a noticeable decline in disruptive behaviour caused by a reduction of alcohol &/or illegal substances. This year no-one has received a custodial sentence from the courts. This reduction has led to an improvement in both mental and physical health to the extent that several people are helping with tasks such as shopping, minor repairs etc. No harm has been identified from the activities of Larne Lighthouse. Anyone can access services at Larne Lighthouse. There is no charge for anything we do. Our constitution states "all ages" however at present we do not have either the human resources or the space to accommodate children safely. Yes All the trustees and team leaders are committed Christians and by serving the Lord at Larne Lighthouse they are fulfilling 1Peter 4:10 where it says " Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms".
