Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from purpose A include improved mental health outcomes, increasing knowledge, leading to a improved lives, decreased stress, depression, anxiety, self harm and suicide in Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people, by promoting awareness of the arts, cultural heritage, history, lives, experiences and support of Trans,

Non-binary and Intersex people. The direct benefits flowing from purpose B include improved inclusion, increasing knowledge and increased visibility of Trans, Non-binary and Intersex lives, issues, history and culture among the general public. The direct benefits which flow from purpose C include improved inclusion of Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people, stronger protective policy, legislation and the eventual eradication of transphobia throughout Northern Ireland. The direct benefits which flow from purpose D include increasing knowledge and increased visibility of Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people's music, visual art, comedy, theatre, film, literature events and associated activities by the general public. The direct benefits which flow from purpose E include increased networking and cooperation between voluntary / community organisations and individuals to increase public understanding and awareness of Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people. The direct benefits which flow from purpose F include increased accountability, openness and inclusivity. The direct benefits which flow from purpose G include improved local, national and international Pride celebrations. The benefits are demonstrated through service user feedback, surveys and photo and video documentation. To carry out purposes A, B, C, D, E and G, spectators need to use hired venues and stages and sound equipment needs to be erected. This carries fire, health, spectator safety, COVID, security and other risks which are mitigated by regular testing of equipment, regular fire, COVID, emergency planning and health and safety risk assessments being carried out, as well as hiring trained first aiders and security staff. The benefits of improved life outcomes and mental health improvements for Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people outweigh any real or perceived risk. There is no harm arising from purpose F. The charities beneficiaries for purposes A, B, C, D, E, F and G are all adult Trans, Non-Binary and Intersex people, their families, friends, Pride organisations, the general public, including the media, artists, historians, musicians, comedians, actors, authors, film producers, health professionals, politicians and those who work for public and voluntary organisations and have a part to play in furthering the equality and social inclusion agendas. For purposes A and D private benefit may arise to musicians, artists, comedians, actors, film-makers and authors due to their work being exposed to a wider audience. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. For purposes B, C and E private benefit may arise to trustees through involvement with other organisations, where they will gain campaigning skills. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. For purposes D and G private benefit may arise to volunteers who will be trained in the skills required to host Pride events. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. There is no private benefit flowing from purpose F. For purpose D, private benefit may arise through hiring paid staff, this benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

For purpose A, the organisation will have an annual Festival in which music, visual art, comedy, theatre, film, literature and other associated activities for Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people will be promoted in order to raise support and awareness of Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people. For purpose B, the organisation will network with

voluntary and community organisations to raise public awareness and educate the general public about Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people's lives, issues, history and culture. For purpose C, the organisation will increase support for equality, diversity and reduce discrimination, by participating in programmes designed to increase awareness of Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people. For purpose D, the organisation will have an annual Festival in which music, visual art, comedy, theatre, film, literature and other associated activities for Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people will be promoted in order to raise support and awareness of Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people. For purpose E, the organisation will network with voluntary / community organisations and individuals to raise public awareness and educate the general public about Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people's lives, issues, history and culture. For purpose F, the organisation will publish its financial accounts and charitable activities into the public domain and use inclusive recruitment policies for trustees, employees and volunteers. For purpose G the organisation will support, take part in and work with local, national and international Prides to promote Pride celebrations.

Charitable purposes

(a) To improve the lives of Trans, Non-binary and Intersex people and including all LGBT+ sexual orientations and gender identities (“LGBT+ people”) in the city of Northern Ireland (the “area of benefit”) by promoting awareness of the arts, cultural heritage, history, lives and experiences of Trans, Non-Binary and Intersex people in Belfast, and by promoting awareness and support for Trans, Non-Binary and Intersex people to all citizens of Northern Ireland to benefit LGBT+ people and enhance their place as equal citizens in the city; (b) to increase public awareness and the education of the general public in relation to lives, issues, history, and culture affecting Trans, Non-Binary and Intersex people in Northern Ireland; (c) to increase support for equality and diversity in Belfast and contribute to reducing discrimination against Trans, Non-Binary and Intersex people in Northern Ireland; (d) to organise and deliver an annual Trans, Non-Binary and Intersex festival, “TRANSGENDER PRIDE FESTIVAL” and supporting events throughout the area of benefit including music, visual art, comedy, theatre, film and literature events and other associated activities; (e) to promote and assist in the co-operation and networking between voluntary and community organisations and individuals engaged in programmes of public education designed to increase public understanding and awareness of Trans, Non-Binary and Intersex people; (f) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the directors, may from time to time, decide in accordance with Charity law. The Charity shall endeavour to operate in an open, accountable and inclusive way in all its activities; (g) To empower and support other local Pride organisations in their efforts to plan and promote pride celebrations and to take part in national Pride organisations in the UK and Ireland as well as European and global Pride networks.
