Public benefits

The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include improved mental health and reduced levels of stress and anxiety, leading to a more positive outlook for their future. These benefits are evidenced through clinical feedback forms received from candidates, who have attended and completed the therapeutic scuba dives with our charity. The

clinical feedback used has been produced independently by the Director and Consultant Clinical Lead at Veterans' NHS Wales and Honorary Research Fellow at Cardiff University. These forms are provided to the candidates to complete one month prior, during the therapeutic dives and monthly thereafter. Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes? Our services involve the provision of therapeutic scuba dives with fit for purpose equipment and a competent dive instructor. However, as with all aquatic endeavours, there are hazards and risks present due to the nature of the activities. The dives are fully risk assessed with mitigations in place such as providing surface dive supervision to oversee activities. Risk assessments are recorded for audit purposes. Accidents are extremely rare, however the risk is minimal and the benefits outweighs the hazards involved. Who are the charity's beneficiaries? Veterans and those still serving with the UK Armed Forces who suffer from combat related PTSD symptoms. The only private benefits arising from our charity's activities are proper and incidental. For instance, our charity uses specific accommodation on the island and in Nassau. These accommodations have been chosen for their proximity to the airport and dive site. However, the lodgings also provide a friendly and private atmosphere that supports the charity's activities. The accommodations also offer generous discounts as they are aware of our charity's purpose.
